I just polled over 1,000 C-level executives and Board Members about the CEO news sources they use.
I decided not to edit the list. There are a few news choices I would not recommend. BUT I do love free speech, and these are all recommended by smart C-level execs at Public and Private Equity Backed and other fast-growing companies. Therefore, I am here below supplying the comprehensive list of ALL the suggestions de-duplicated but otherwise unedited.
The news is so bad now I thought I would provide you with this list and I needed it for myself also.

Regarding news: Seems like there are two rules: – Have a variety of sources. News orgs, online, blogs. Be selective. – Have a good BS detector, so you can sort out the real stuff from crap and lies. Even the good channels can have crap content. My daily sources are WSJ, selected writers on Medium and Quora, NYT, PBS News Hour, DW The Day.”

I agree with you. In my opinion, what’s wrong is that the ease of using social media has encouraged everyone (too many anyway) to express their own opinions about what’s happening in the world. Opinions are OK, different perspectives are good, but too many people label their opinions as “News”, no one wants to pay for real Journalism, and critical thinking seems to be a lost skill, so here we are. They say that a mark of a person’s intelligence is how much that person agrees with your own ideas; we gravitate to people who amplify our own FUD (Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt).
I do have one really good source of news which I recommend that you include in your list of suggested news sources. It is called “Wake Up to Politics”. It is truly unbiased. Written by a young man named Gabe Fleischer. He is from St. Louis, I received a recommendation from a friend (CEO of a client) here. Gabe is a student at Georgetown University. He currently distributes to 50,000 subscribers nationally & internationally. The interesting thing is that he turned 21 years old a couple of months ago, but has been publishing this newsletter for…years!”
