I never was interested in the economy until one day in my thirties I was attending an industry conference and I saw a presentation from an Economist that convinced me, in an entertaining way, that…
It’s smart to know what the economy is doing.
To move up in most companies you need to think like an owner, or in corporate America, think like the executives.
Owners and executives want to keep up with what’s happening in the economy. So, they can know how much gas or brake to use in, growing the business decisions.
Almost all decisions are influenced to some degree by the economy.
What are we to make of this economy?
I will warn you I haven’t figured it all out. But hopefully by reading the following you will have a better understanding of where we are at.
When you look at certain news sources you will see that the economy is booming.
But at the same time other news sources show the sky is falling.
But isn’t that just the story of the news nowadays.
Now the facts. I will try to make some sense of things for you without opinion, you can get enough of that from the news.
What follows is a summary of the last several dozen economic articles I studied, with all the fluff redacted, into simple stats & facts.
The world economy will top 100 Trillion for the first time in 2022.
The inflation rate in the US is about 7% and growing. Highest since 1982.
