Updated October 2026.
Your LinkedIn profile is your calling card. Recruiters, employers, clients and, more and more, AI search tools read it before they ever talk to you. Here are five tips to make it work harder.
- Sharpen your headline and About section. Say who you are, what you do and who you help, in plain words. Use the keywords a recruiter would actually search.
- Fill out your Experience with results. List accomplishments with numbers: revenue grown, teams built, costs saved.
- Add skills that match your target role. Pin your top skills and ask colleagues to endorse them.
- Connect with people who know you. Past colleagues, mentors, clients. Add a short personal note.
- Engage regularly. Comment thoughtfully on others’ posts a few times a week. Visibility follows generosity.
Bonus for 2026: add a clear, recent photo and a banner, and add a Featured section so visitors see your best work first.
